With a solid first day of action in the books, Pond Hockey weekend kicks off!

Friday night proved to be a strong first night of action at the 2nd Annual Saratoga Frozen Springs Classic Pond Hockey Tournament at the Spa State Park.  It seemed like the Northway unloaded as cars began piling in as early as 2pm for registration for the weekend’s action.  It was not long until the skates were on, pucks were flying and beers were flowing!

Check back later for results from the first round of action and a look at Saturday’s game schedule!

Due to the recent warm weather anomaly, and several days of rain in Saratoga, we have lost a significant portion of the ice for the Saratoga Frozen Springs Classic. The Pond Hockey Tournament will need to be rescheduled until February 26-28, 2016.

Saratoga is forecast to have several very cold days which are optimal for making ice. We plan to use these days to recover the ice that was lost due to the warm weather, so we can have the tournament we all were looking forward to.

We will continue to monitor the weather, and keep everyone informed of any further changes.
